A pleasing bed of vivid purple-red interlocking crystals of the rare chromium
rich variety of Clinochlore Known as "Kammererite". The Kop Krom
mine in Turkey is known to have produced the finest examples and this example
is no exception.This superb specimen features beautifully striated, gemmy
crystals, the largest at around 8mm all resting on a dense matrix of Chromite
with a little powdery pale green ultra fine grained Uvarovite on one side
of the specimen. The base of the matrix has been painted over and marked with detail of the location by a previous (unknown) owner. |
